The MYC Cafe will open to the public in July, 2010. Stop by between 11:30-6:30pm and support the youth who have been working hard to make it happen!
The Cafe Program at The MYC is designed to get youth into the kitchen! After participating in our complete program:
- Youth understand how to make healthy choices
- Youth have the ability to cook for themselves
- Youth develop job skills in the food industry
The Job Skills series trains youth to run an environmentally friendly and healthy cafe business. Youth are trained to be effective staff, learning all the aspects of the cafe/restaurant business including: counter service, cooking skills, safety and sanitation, and barista training.
The MYC's youth-operated cafe prepares delicious, affordable snacks for young people and staff. Come visit us and try our food! We are open Monday-Friday before and after daily cooking classes.
The MYC's youth run Cafe provides catering services for small and large groups. Our fantastic catered events can be customized to fit any occassion. We use seasonal, sustainable products from the Marin Farmer's Market and other local sources.
We also offer our commercial kitchen and cafe facilities for rental.
